A modern architectural approach but utilising traditional local building materials form the fundament concept for these 8 villas on a sloping site in Ubud. Black metal frames coinciding with traditional burlap materials featured prominently as main design elements, in the form of fenestration, wall coverings, lighting and furniture. Raw striped concrete ceilings further accentuate the fundamental emphasis on details, proportion and construction techniques. Building facades frame the valley views and an understated arrival reception with vertical landscaping occupying most of its frontage, reinforcing an architectural direction that truly respects the natural environment it is sited on.
