House at Parbury Avenue

Singapore

Additions and alterations to an existing house where the structures are preserved. Due to limitations of loading, the new interventions are mostly lightweight aluminium screen walls on the existing structures. This encourages natural lighting and ventilation. A roof strip skylight brightens the interiors naturally throughout, and despite the long nature of the site, visual connection is established from the front of the house right through to the rear, where an interesting existing retaining wall forms the focal point of the axis.
